All but this one provided very simplistic explainations. I liked the additional information that this book provides, but my 5 year old lost interest because there were too many words on each page for him. It was helpful for my 8 year old.

Describes the different jobs that levers and pulleys can perform and how they are able to do them. As readers use scientific inquiry to learn about how force, energy, and work make using these simple machines possible and effective, an activity based on real world situations challenges them to apply what theyve learned in order to solve a puzzle.
